HOPE

“and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father”

[Philippians 2:11 (NRSV)]

Welcome to St. Philip's Evangelical Lutheran Church's website, an active member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), situated in the historic Ville St. Louis Neighborhood. With a rich heritage spanning over 95 years, we continue our tradition of faith, service, and community.

As part of the ELCA, our mission is to share God's love with all and strive for a world where every individual is treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. St. Philip's is an open and inclusive congregation that embraces people from diverse backgrounds and experiences.

Our congregation is proudly diverse, with a significant African-American membership, but we want to emphasize that everyone, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic, is warmly welcomed here. Our doors are open to all who seek to nurture their faith and discover deeper purpose and meaning in life.

At St. Philip's, we offer worship services, Christian education, and community events that foster spiritual growth and strengthen connections among individuals of all ages. We continually seek innovative ways to engage and support our community.

We take pride in our association with the Ville St. Louis Neighborhood and are dedicated to collaborating with our neighbors to create a more resilient and vibrant community. Whether you've been a lifelong Lutheran or are just beginning to explore your faith journey, we invite you to join us as we work together to make a positive impact on the world.
